I really hadn't pondered this verse too much and didn't question Watchman's soul, spirit, body theory because I had heard it before and it makes since to me if God is three that we would be made in 3 parts. Of course I don't have proof because I hadn't pondered

CF-Remember when speaking of the full armor of G*D, Paul describes the "Sword of the Spirit" as sharp enough to separate joint from marrow AND SOUL FROM SPIRIT.
There is a difference, it's just that because of our fallen nature, our spirits are dead(before salvation) so the soul has taken over the functioning of the spirit, and does a crumby job of it!

I am a huge fan of Watchman Nee, he is one of my favorite authors.

However, I am not so keen on 'The Spiritual Man.'

I disagree with Nee's view that man is body, soul and spirit. I prefer the view that we are body and soul and thus there is no substantial difference between soul and spirit.

I also think in that book he has an unhealthy emphasis on the emotions.
